What is the Sports Premium?

The government provides all schools with additional funding to enhance Physical Education (PE) and sport. This funding is ring-fenced, meaning it can only be used to improve opportunities for children to be active, develop sporting skills, and enjoy a wide range of physical activities. At Seymour, we use this funding to ensure all pupils have access to high quality PE lessons, sports clubs, competitions, and specialist coaching, helping them to stay healthy, build confidence, and develop teamwork and resilience.

Sports Events 

At Seymour, we offer a wide range of sporting events throughout the year, giving pupils the chance to compete, collaborate, and celebrate achievement. From inter-school competitions to friendly matches and whole-school sports days, these events help children develop teamwork, resilience, and confidence. They also provide opportunities for pupils to try new sports, stay active, and enjoy the excitement of representing their school in a supportive and inclusive environment.
