Modern Foreign Language

Intent

During their time at Seymour Primary School, all pupils will have the opportunity to learn to speak, read, write and understand Spanish. The Language Angels scheme of work will provide children with ‘relevant, broad, vibrant  and ambitious’ coverage, allowing them to reach their true potential. Pupils will apply their knowledge in a variety of contexts, laying down solid foundations for future language learning. It is our intent that all pupils will develop a genuine interest and positive curiosity about foreign languages, finding them stimulating and enjoyable. By learning an alternative language, they will have the opportunity to explore relationships between language and identity, develop a deeper understanding of different cultures and have the courage to speak the language in different settings.

How is this subject taught

Spanish in Seymour is taught by using the website Language Angels. It is adapted to follow our pedagogical model. We use slides to make sure that we use the correct sequencing.
